FINDING YOUR STYLE

This week I have been totally procrastinating on figuring out my wardrobe for ALT.  Oh, I don't know if I told you lovies, but I am going to Altitude Design Summit next week and I couldn't be more excited/ nervous! I think it is the unexpected that frightens me the most. I mean hundreds of some of the most inspiring bloggers in one room for three days, celebrities, and hopefully meeting people that become quick and lifelong friends.  I have been blogging now for 2 years, and the one thing I wish I would have done from the beginning is reach out to those who inspire me the most. So now, 2 years later I am finally going to have the opportunity to meet them in person. I may freeze when I meet Jenny from Little Green Notebook or Emily Henderson, who is one of my style icons, or when I finally meet Mackenzie from Design Darling in person (instead of talks over email), and so many more of my favorite bloggers. My goal for the weekend is to be anything but shy, be myself, and soak in every bit of information that I could possibly imagine.

But back to my procrastination, I seriously have no clue what I am going to wear. My style for the most part is simple, classic and neutral (this is where I find myself scrambling for an idea for a party where color is required- insert stressful sigh here).  As I was browsing the internet for I found myself pinning every picture of Olivia Palermo I found as inspiration for the weekend... IF ONLY I HAD HER WARDROBE. Leather skinnies, silk blouses, and amazing coats, let's just say I would die to walk in her closet for 10 minutes.

So I think I am going to stick with being true to my style, and not go find some poof for my hair or 7 inch wedges so I can stand out.  While I wish I sometimes had the ability to totally let go when it comes to style, I have realized that choosing classic pieces is not such a bad habit to have formed.

Can't wait to meet you! :)

I'm also a neutral kind of girl so the clue theme really had me thinking since they announced it! I think that your making the right decision by sticking to your style, otherwise you won't feel like yourself. While is good to try new things now and then, if they don't really feel like a natural decision of the time, the discomfort will show ;)
So excited to meet you!

Oh I am obsessed with OP's style - she always looks so chic and put together in an effortless way! I totally agree with sticking to your style - while bold looks may stand out, I'm always drawn more to classic pieces!

I can't wait to hear about ALT! I wanted to go so bad but the tickets sold out so fast. You will look great, I'm sure of it~ ;)

Olivia's closet must look like heaven. I would die just to peak inside. I definitely agree - just stick to your own style and you'll be fine! I'm dying to go to a blogger conference of some sort! xo
